Mystic Mocha opened in June 2005 and is located in the beautiful San Diego neighborhood of University Heights. Since then, Mystic Mocha has been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and daring new ventures into the uncharted territories of coffee, tea, food, beer and wine.
Mystic Mocha's interior reflects the artistic sensibilities of the surrounding area. The exterior includes seating in a tranquil outdoor patio. Drink in the chimes, meditate with the hummingbirds and converse with the kind neighbors.
Although some ingredients have already been changed to organic, Mystic Mocha's new owners are striving to convert as many ingredients as possible to organic. We focus on quality ingredients that are locally sourced. We offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

We will strive to provide organic, locally sourced, non-GMO foods and sustainable, pasture-raised, grass-fed, antibiotic-free, hormone-free and humanely raised meats and poultry when possible.
We will strive to use no chemicals in house. We will strive to use only natural, plant-based, unscented and environmentally friendly cleansers.
We will strive to use biodegradable and compostable cups, plates, utensils and take-out cartons. No heavy plastics, BPA, PVC, phthalates or styrofoam.
We will promote community involvement by aligning with local charities, artists, musicians, neighbors and businesses who share our values.
We will host community events and charity fundraisers to promote unity and health education.
We will create a fun, friendly family working environment where everyone feels valued and loved.
We will always be grateful to our guests for their kind support.

As of August 1, 2018, in support of the rising minimum wage, to help cover increasing costs and as a common practice in many other restaurants in San Diego, we will be adding a 4% surcharge to all checks. Please take a moment to read our thoughts and how we arrived at this decision. We hope you’ll understand that our motives are sincere and our course of action is necessary for a sustainable and fair working environment for all. We appreciate your trust and understanding and will continue to put our heart and soul into providing you delicious food, exceptional service and genuine hospitality.
It might surprise you to know that restaurants only average 4-7 cents on the dollar after all expenses are paid— and that was before minimum wage started to climb, the implementation of the affordable care act and other State and local ordinances. By implementing a surcharge, we’re confident we’ll have the resources we need to continue raising wages for all of our employees, not only those earning minimum wage.With a surcharge, we”ll be able to not only comply with minimum wage ordinances but also maintain a living wage for the wonderful people in our Mystic Mocha Family.
We support the idea that anyone working should be able to afford some basic standard of living. We all feel it is the good thing to do. The next couple years are going to be very difficult for our industry as restaurants do their best to grapple with all of these changes and in the simplest of terms, to just keep the lights on.
